The World’s First Densified Carbon Nanotube (DCN) Sheet
Weighing approximately 1.0 g/cc, with excellent sheet resistance and a near zero impedance, DCN sheet material is ideal for applications where weight is a premium and strength is a must.

Unlike carbon nanotube composite materials, DCN sheet contains no polymers, making it compatible in operating temperatures from -200°C to +350°C in air, with extremely low Coefficient of Thermal Expansion (CTE). Under inert atmosphere or in vacuum, DCN sheet is stable at temperatures above +1000°C.
In addition, DCN sheet offers unparalleled tensile strength, resistance against the harshest chemicals, resistance against radiation and the ability to fold and unfurl.
Smooth, shiny and conductive DCN sheet surface also enables superior electromagnetic interference (EMI) shielding and superior reflectivity of radio waves and infrared signals. For example, a 1 m x 1 m DCN sheet with a mass of ~15 g has the same reflectivity performance for electromagnetic signals as a 1 m x 1 m 1/4" thick aluminum plate that weighs 17000 g.
Furthermore, fine control of the pore sizes of DCN sheets results in the ideal HYDROPHILIC filtration membranes that defy surface fouling and de-wetting. High electric conductivity of DCN sheets makes them ideal membranes for electrochemical filtration.

Starting from commercially available Miralon® sheets, our patented manufacturing process dramatically enhances the π-π stacking between individual carbon nanotubes. The much-increased nanotube-nanotube attraction combined with the strong carbon-carbon bonds (σ and π bonds) in the nanotubes creates a workable sheet material with novel properties for various applications under extremely harsh conditions.

Intellectual property has been secured on the DCN material and the process for making DCN sheets. Several patent applications are being applied for to secure derivative intellectual property.
